i have a long hair...it's before my sholders...and i wanna have a emo haircut....but not too short...i wanna die it black with purple and pink...and for the hair cut i dont knwu wat i want....just cuz i dont wanna cut too much.....cam u help me with some sugestions?

Well, I cut my boyfriends hair into a "scene" haircut once, and all I did was chop it all over the place. Razors (hair razors, they look like a comb with a razor blade underneath, you can buy these at hair supply stores) work better than scissors, they thin the ends out, making it easier to get that pointed effect on the ends. The key to "scene" hair, is body, messy layers, and straightening... you need to invest in a high quality hair straightener for the best results. (high quality are usually made of ceramic, made by brands like "chi" and range anywhere from $40-$200, they can be found in salons and beauty stores such as sally's beauty supply) Also what I use for messy body is a teasing comb, it is made of metal and has jagged eges. You push it back and forth at the roots to make your hair almost into a knot, this will create a lot of body. Other than that, I suggest you find a photo of a hair cut you like on myspace, and try to mimic it... having someone else do it for you might be a better idea though. Keep in mind that the goal is not to make it look even, it is supposed to look messy like you got into a fight with a lawnmower... but then by straightening it, it will look polished and styled.

Get a long-ish spike type fringe, and spike the rest up using brylcream - and then, get the back about neck-level with slight layers. Also, try criss-crossing the hair directly above your head and then flattening it down. If you want an emo haircut, you should probably get it dyed so black it's almost blue, and from there you can add in spray-in highlights for the purple and pink...but you might want to go with blue on that one. I suggest that after you get it dyed you wait about a month before experimenting with other hair colors, then you can also slick on some spray-in-wash-out colors so that if the highlights go wrong you'll be able to wash out the wrong-colored horror of it all instead of messing about with dyes for your original hair color.
