I'm 16 and getting my hair cut tommorrow and have no clue on what to do with it! Help!!!?

I have long brown hair its about down to my mid back, I recently got some auburn highlights in it..It is mostly straight, some wave but not much at all, my hair is layered, and I have long slanted bangs and a right side part to which my hair is cut at..I want something easy to take care of but I still want it to be long enough to put in a pony tail or messy bun because I am very active in sports..that pretty much covers it HELP...

I would go to my appointment about thirty minutes early and go through all their hairstyle magazines and see if anything catches your eye. If it does I would find a few of them and show them to your hair dresser and I would really talk with him/her about your style ...they would really know what to recommend to suit your schedule and to suit your face.

Ask your stylist what would look best with your face shape. Tell them you want it long enough to pull up, and have them show you some pictures of styles that would flatter you.

Get a cut like Katie Holmes has. Its cute and just long enough that I think you can put it into a messy bun.

I think you should cut your hair below the shoulders and try not to get too much layers b/c they make wavy hair wavier. Also get side bangs if you don't already have them. They're not a drastic step and look cute on virtually anybody. Just make sure your hair is never frizzy or staticy b/c that will ruin any hairstyle.

Also whats in is straight hair, so you might wanna get a good straightner just in case.

The best thing to do is find a picture you like! Last time I got my hair cut, I actually brought in my yearbook and showed her the hair cut I wanted! I flipped through my year book and just found a random girl with a hair cut i loved! (It helps if the girl in the picture has a similar face shape and hair texture)

edit: and obviously if you have really thin hair you aren't going to be able to make it look like eva longorias, and if it is really thick a haircut like victoria Justice won't lay the same way

and based on your needs and look, the first or second picture of Catherine zeta jones would probably look great on you, and the cut is so versatile; so easy to throw up into a bun or ponytail!

Hey you sound exactly like I did a month ago. My hair sounds exactly like mine was too. I ended up cutting it alittle below my shoulders with layers. It looks cute plus its not technically short and can grow back easily. Its long enough to put back into a pony tail and a messy bun. Plus its much easier to take care of. When I got it cut it was alittle nerve racking and i almost cryed, but after it was over with i was happy with the results. Also swooped bangs look super cute with short hair.

Long slanted bangs and layered hair are definitely in style. I think that you should probably just get it trimmed and add some bottom layers to make it more interesting.
